Nowadays, everything is becoming digital, be it payments, investments, or banking. However, cases of online fraud and fraudulent investment schemes have also increased. Many people lose their money due to false promises. In such cases, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is now sending messages to raise awareness.

These SMS messages sent by the RBI advise people that if they have invested in a fraudulent investment scheme and suffered losses, they should immediately file a complaint through the Sachet Portal. This portal is available on the RBI's official website, https://sachet.rbi.org.in.

What is the RBI's Sachet Portal?
The RBI's Sachet Portal is an online platform designed to protect the public from fraudulent investment schemes, illegal chit funds, and unauthorized financial companies.

Through this portal, you can file a complaint against any company or scheme that has defrauded you by promising unrealistic returns (such as doubling your money every month or a 20% guaranteed investment).

How to File an Online Complaint
If you have fallen victim to a fraudulent investment scheme, you can file a complaint online in just a few simple steps.

Go to RBI's Sachet Portal at https://sachet.rbi.org.in.
Click on "File a Complaint" on the homepage.
Now fill in the details of your complaint, such as the company name, scheme details, and the amount of money invested.
If you don't know which regulator your complaint falls under, click on "Can't find regulator."
It is mandatory to provide your mobile number when filing a complaint so that you can receive updates via SMS.

Once a complaint is filed, RBI forwards the matter to the appropriate authority, such as SEBI, IRDAI, the state government, or the police department, for further action.

After filing a complaint, you receive a reference number. Using this number, you can track the status of your complaint online. Additionally, the RBI's SLCC team (State Level Coordination Committee) helps route your complaint to the appropriate department.

Apart from the RBI, you can also file a complaint here.
If you have been a victim of cyber fraud or online deception, you can file a complaint not only with the RBI but also on other platforms.

Cybercrime Portal: https://cybercrime.gov.in
Helpline Number: 1930 (toll-free number)
Telecom Department's Chakshu Portal: For reporting spam or fraudulent calls/messages

In this era of Digital India, scammers' methods and tactics have become more sophisticated. Therefore, it's crucial to thoroughly verify the company's information before investing in any investment scheme.
