News India Live, Digital Desk: If you are also a customer of State Bank of India (SBI), then this news is very important for you. The bank is going to close one of its old money transfer services forever. The last date is November 30, 2025, after which you will not be able to use this facility. Let us know which service is being stopped and what effect it can have on you. Which service is being stopped? The name of the service which SBI is closing is ‘mCash’. Many people may not know about this service or may not use it. mCash was a way by which you could send money to anyone using just a mobile number or email ID, even if you did not have the other person’s bank account details. The person receiving the money used to get a link, by clicking on which he could claim the money in his account. Why did the bank take this decision? In today’s digital era, when fast and easy methods like UPI and net banking are available, old services like mCash have become irrelevant. UPI has revolutionized the way of sending money, so most people now use it. In view of this, SBI has decided to stop this old and less used service. Will UPI and YONO also be stopped? Absolutely not! There is no need to panic here. SBI is just closing its old mCash service. All your other modern services like UPI, YONO app, Net Banking, IMPS, NEFT will continue to work as before. Rather, the bank wants customers to use these new, faster and more secure services. So overall, this is a step to remove an old technology and promote a new one. If you do not use mCash, it will not affect you. And even if you did, now you have many better options like UPI.
