After turning profitable in the fiscal year FY24, Temasek-backed soonicorn HealthKart recorded an over 3X surge in its net profit to INR 120 Cr in the financial year ended March 31, 2025 (FY25). The startup had reported a net profit of INR 36.7 Cr in the previous year, implying a near 227% YoY jump.
The nutrition-focussed ecommerce startup’s operating revenue jumped 30% to INR 1,312.6 Cr in the year under review from INR 1,021 Cr in the previous fiscal year. Including other income of INR 55.7 Cr, the total income of HealthKart stood at INR 1,368.3 in FY25.
Besides the growth in its top line, the startup’s bottom line also received a near INR 31 Cr boost from a deferred tax credit during the fiscal year in review.
The startup’s major revenue came from its sale of products which crossed the INR 1,000 Cr mark in FY25. HealthKart’s revenue from sale of products increased 30% in the period under year to INR 1,276.8 from INR 990.3 Cr in FY24.
Additionally, the startup’s revenue from sale of services added another INR 35.5 Cr in the year under review.
Founded in 2011 by Sameer Maheshwai and Prashant Tandon, HealthKart is an online marketplace for nutrition-focussed supplements and other vitamin products. The platform mainly targets fitness enthusiasts by offering whey proteins and gainers.
HealthKart claims to have over 200 brands and authorised vendors listed on its website. Besides, it also has a presence in modern trade and general trade, as well as on horizontal e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, among others.
Initially, HealthKart also offered pharmaceutical drugs on its website but then sold its generic drug businesses to 1MG in 2015 (before its acquisition by Tata) and its epharmacy wing to the Tata Group in 2021.
During the fiscal year, the startup raised $153 Mn in a funding round co-led by venture capital (VC) firm ChrysCapital and asset management platform Motilal Oswal Alternates. Till date the startup has raised about $351 Mn in funding from investors like Peak XV, A91 Partners and IIFL Finance.

The Delhi NCR-based startup’s total expense for FY25 stood at INR 1,273.4 Cr, up 23% from INR 1,032.2 Cr in the previous year.
Advertising Cost: The startup spent INR 263.1 Cr in promotions and advertising in FY25 which is a jump of almost 40% from INR 188.8 Cr in the previous year.
Purchase Of Stock-In-Trade: The cost under this head saw a 10% jump to INR 124.2 Cr in FY25 from INR 112.9 Cr in the previous fiscal.
Employee Benefit Cost: The salary and employee benefit cost for the startup reduced by almost 5% to INR 115.2 Cr in FY25 from INR 120.6 Cr.
