The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning of ice affecting London and South East England on Wednesday with the chances of snow currently at 40% on Thursday. There are seven yellow Met Office warnings across the UK for Wednesday November 19. Five of these are for snow and ice while the two others are for ice.
There are five yellow snow and ice warnings in effect on Wednesday, affecting large parts of the UK including Cornwall, Devon, Plymouth, Wales, North East England, SW Scotland, the Scottish Borders, Yorkshire & Humber, Central Scotland, the Highlands and Islands, Strathclyde, and Northern Ireland.
From midnight to 11am on Wednesday, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice, affecting London and the South East, the East of England, the Midlands, North West England, South West England, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber, and parts of Wales. Untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths are likely to develop icy patches, increasing the risk of slips, falls, and injuries.
The Weather Outlook predicts a 40% chance of snow on Thursday, November 20, while new WX Charts maps show snow could hit London later in the week on Sunday, November 23, reaching as far south as Thanet, Eastbourne, and even Dover.
