Sunil Bharti Mittal’s telecom giant Bharti Airtel continues its impressive run on the stock market. The company’s shares have been rising steadily for seven straight sessions, ever since it announced its quarterly results. On Tuesday, the stock once again surged, touching a fresh 52-week high and pushing the company’s valuation to record levels.
Despite broader market weakness, Airtel’s stock climbed more than 2 percent on Tuesday. The upward momentum received an additional boost after S&P Global upgraded the company’s credit rating, strengthening investor confidence. As a result, Airtel’s market capitalization has jumped by over ₹90,000 crore within a single week.
Airtel shines even as markets fall
While many stocks struggled in a declining market, Airtel stood out with strong gains. On Tuesday, Airtel traded at ₹2,153.05 after rising about 2 percent. During the session, it even hit a new 52-week high of ₹2,159. The stock opened the day at ₹2,122, compared to Monday’s closing price of ₹2,112.20.
Nearly 8 percent jump in one week
According to BSE data, Airtel’s share price has surged almost 8 percent in the past seven trading sessions. On October 7, the stock was priced at ₹2,001.10. Since then, it has risen by ₹157.9. Analysts say the consistent rise is driven by strong quarterly results and the S&P rating upgrade. Many experts believe the stock may continue to climb in the coming days.
₹90,000 crore added to market cap
Airtel’s soaring stock price has led to a major spike in its valuation. On October 7, the company’s market cap stood at ₹11,41,048.30 crore. During Tuesday’s trading session, it touched ₹12,31,084.54 crore. This marks an unbelievable increase of ₹90,036.24 crore within just seven days.
