When a common check-up changed everything
Mahima revealed that she did not have any symptoms of cancer. She was feeling completely healthy. She told, “I get my routine health check-up done every year. During that time, my doctor advised me to get another test done along with mammography. When the report came, some cells were found abnormal in it, which was sent for biopsy.”
When the biopsy report came, it revealed the initial stage of breast cancer. Mahima said, “I was shocked to hear this. I had no idea that something like this was happening inside my body. If I had not done that routine check-up, it might have never been detected and it would have been too late.”
A phone call from Anupam Kher gave courage
While Mahima was going through this battle, she got a call from veteran actor Anupam Kher. He wanted to sign Mahima for his film ‘The Signature’. When Mahima tearfully told him about her illness, Anupam Kher not only gave her courage but also convinced her to share her story with the world. Anupam Kher recorded a video of her and posted it on social media, after which Mahima got love and support from people all over the world.
Defeated cancer, became an inspiration for millions of people
Mahima underwent chemotherapy, due to which she also lost her hair. He completed the shooting of the film ‘The Signature’ wearing a wig. Now Mahima Chaudhary is completely cancer free and is living a healthy life.
