A12 traffic LIVE: Major travel route closed as 'serious' crash sparks hour-long delays

A major travel route has been closed in both directions following a serious crash, with National Highways warning drivers of hour-long delays. National Highways wrote on X: The #A12 remains CLOSED in both directions between J12 near #Mountnessing and J15 near #Margaretting due to a @EssexPoliceUK-led incident. There are currently delays of 60 mins northbound and 15 mins southbound."
Essex Police said: "We're on the scene of a serious collision on the London-bound A12 at Ingatestone. All emergency services are at the scene. There is a full road closure in place between junctions 12 and 15, and we expect that to be in place for some time. We will endeavour to provide an update when we practically can."
