Mainpuri Rural Tourism: When three women tourists from Spain reached Bhanwat village of Mainpuri, the entire village danced to welcome them. Fares Marín Sandra, Lourdes Giraldo Rodríguez and Cintia Belén Bonino – these three guests came as part of a rural tourism project and experienced things that they would never have seen in cities.

Vishram Singh of the village took them around with him, took them to their homes, and showed them closely the traditions passed down for generations. The foreign guests themselves extracted butter from Bilona, ​​saw pitchers being made on clay wheels, understood the cultivation of water chestnut and then reached Jakhadar Mahadev Temple and bowed before the self-proclaimed Shivalinga and a 200-year-old Peepal tree. The guests were so happy that they repeatedly said – “This is magic!”

Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the three guests stayed in “Rohit Homestay”. There he ate local food, slept on cots, and felt the hospitality of a real village. Bhanwat village is part of the Stork Circuit, there is a 10 hectare pond which is home to the state bird stork along with exotic birds. This village is the biggest center of water chestnut – the crop goes to Azadpur Mandi of Delhi.

Till now 10 homestays have been registered in the village. All the homestay owners have been given 5 days training at the respected Kanshi Ram Tourism Management Institute, Lucknow so that they can provide a 5-star experience to the tourists.

Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “People now want to see the real India after Taj Mahal-Ayodhya. The figures of Mainpuri are witness – 18.72 lakh tourists came in 2023, it increased to 20.04 lakh in 2024 and in just 6 months of 2025, the figure of 6.92,130 has been crossed. We will put the entire villages of UP on the world map by decorating them with homestays and farmstays. Have been.”

The minister further said that more than Rs 27.35 crore is being spent on the rejuvenation of religious places in Mainpuri. This includes Hanuman temple of Jakhaua, Kali Mata temple of Padaria and other pilgrimages.

Now every village of UP is gradually becoming a new address for global tourism. Where there is culture, nature and also that true Indian belongingness which is not found anywhere else.
