Samajwadi Party has informed about the demise of MLA Sudhakar Singh from its official handle on X. The party said- “Demise of Samajwadi Party MLA Sudhakar Singh ji from Ghosi assembly, extremely sad! May his soul rest in peace. May the bereaved family get the strength to bear this immense loss. Heartfelt tribute!”

Samajwadi Party MLA from Ghosi seat Sudhakar Singh has died at the age of 67. He had won the Ghosi seat by a record number of votes in the assembly by-election held in the year 2023. Sudhakar Singh had defeated BJP’s Dara Singh Chauhan by more than 42 thousand votes.

Sudhakar Singh was born in Mau district and has been vocal on the issues of rural areas for a long time. His victory in Ghosi by-election had strengthened SP in Purvanchal. He was very popular among the farmers and Dalit community. Due to his death, the process of by-election is likely to start on Ghosi assembly seat, which can once again become a ground of close competition between political parties.
