Jitesh Sharma’s India ‘A’ team have marched into the semifinals of the ongoing ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 tournament in Doha. Team India will now take on Group A toppers Bangladesh ‘A’ in the last four clash at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Friday. All eyes will be on India’s teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi who even at 14 years of age is currently the second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 201 runs in 3 games. The Rajasthan Royals prodigy opened up in the tournament with a blazing 144 off 42 balls against UAE which was studded with 15 sixes. He then followed it up with 45 against Pakistan ‘A’ team but failed to lift India to a competitive total. Suryavanshi’s opening partner Arya from Punjab Kings has only managed three scores of 10 runs in the tournament. They cannot take Akbar Ali’s Bangladesh ‘A’ team lightly since they hammered a powerful Afghanistan ‘A’ team by bundling them out for only 78. Indian will be wary of Bangladesh bowlers Ripon Mondol and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan who both appear to be in fine form. India ‘A’ bowling attack have also failed to fire collectively. Tamil Nadu and former Chennai Super Kings pacer Gujapneet Singh is the leading bowler with five wickets to his name while left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey and leg-spinner Suyash Sharma have taken three wickets each. In the second semifinal of the day Pakistan ‘A’ team will take on Sri Lanka ‘A’. Pakistan will be buoyed by the form of their young opener Maaz Sadaqat who is the leading run-getter in the tournament with 212 runs in 3 matches at a strike-rate of 182.75 with 2 fifties. Sri Lanka ‘A’ team led by Dunith Wellalage sneaked into the semifinals thanks to their hard-fought win over Bangladesh ‘A’ led by their skipper’s three-wicket haul.
