A shocking case of serious negligence of a doctor has come to light in Meerut. Here, the injury near the eye of a two and a half year old child was treated in such a way that everyone was surprised to hear it. While the child should have been stitched, it is alleged that the doctor pasted the wound with a Feviquik worth just Rs 5. After this the child kept suffering from pain the whole night. The next day, when the family took him to another hospital, it took three hours for the doctors to remove the febiquick, after which stitches could be applied.

This incident took place in Maples Height located in Jagriti Vihar Extension. Manraj, two and a half year old son of financier Sardar Jaspinder Singh, who lives here, had collided with the corner of the table while playing at home. The injury was very close to the eye and blood started flowing. The panicked family members immediately reached a private hospital in the city. According to the family members, the doctor present there neither examined the injury properly nor provided first aid. Despite the need for stitches, the doctor asked the parents to bring Feviquik from outside, which they did, trusting them. The doctor applied Feviquik on the cut area without cleaning the wound.

According to Jaspinder Singh, the child kept moaning in pain, but the doctor repeatedly avoided saying that the child was nervous and the pain would subside after some time. However, the pain increased throughout the night, causing the child’s condition to worsen.

As soon as the morning came, the family took the child to the popular hospital. Here the doctors told that it was very dangerous to apply Feviquik on the wound. If even a little bit of the glue gets into the eye, the child’s vision could be affected. It took experts three hours to remove Faviquik. After removing the glue layer by layer with utmost care, the wound became clearly visible, on which the doctors immediately applied four stitches.

Jaspinder Singh said that if proper treatment was not given in time, a major accident could have occurred. The family is extremely upset over the matter and has raised the demand for action.
