In the Sikanderpur area of Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, the body of a young man was discovered in a house on Saturday. Authorities have registered a murder case against five individuals in connection with this incident, as confirmed by the police.
The deceased, identified as 22-year-old Sumant Verma, was found in a residence in Sikanderpur. Upon receiving the news, his family rushed to the scene and transported him to a local government hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. Following this, the family took Sumant's body back home.
Local police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed of the situation. Prior to their arrival, Sumant's family, outraged by the incident, filed a complaint against the accused and demanded immediate action, stating that they would only allow the body to be sent for post-mortem after their demands were met.
Station Officer Ashwini Kumar Mishra reported that a named complaint was filed against five individuals based on the statement of the deceased's father, Sudama Verma. He added that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Mishra further stated that the police are conducting necessary legal proceedings and have detained all suspects for questioning. It was noted that Sumant had attended a party with some youths in the town on the night prior to the incident.
