If you are crazy about retro motorcycles and are looking to buy a strong bike from Royal Enfield, the recently introduced Royal Enfield Bullet 650 can become a big option for you. Launched during Motoverse 2025, the bike brings the company’s iconic bullet series to the 650cc segment. On the other hand the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is already popular in the market as a premium-retro touring bike. In such a situation, it is necessary to understand what is the real difference between the two and which bike will prove more right for the youth. Let us understand this comparison in detail.
Design and Looks
Speaking of design, the Classic 650 comes with a fully retro touring appeal. Its teardrop fuel tank, curved fenders, twin exhaust and chrome finish give it a fairly premium look. Its LED casket present in the headlamps “Tiger-I” DRL makes it modern and stylish. Its many color options and removable Pilion seats make it more versatile, which is especially liked by touring enthusiasts.
In contrast, the new Bullet 650 brings a strong and classical approach while fully maintaining its iconic identity. It features a single-piece seat, squared-off rear fender, traditional casket headlamps, twin pilot lamps, metal side panels, and hand-painted pinstripes, giving it a true feel of “old-school bullet style”. At first sight, it seems to be a larger and more premium version of the bullet, which will be very pleasing to Heritage Lovers.
Engine and Performance
In terms of performance, both bikes are almost the same. Both feature a 648cc Parallel-Twin SOHC engine, which generates power of 46.4 hp and torque of 52.3 Nm. The slip / assist clutch and 6-speed gearbox give this engine a smooth and refined riding experience. Both feature a 43mm telescopic front fork and a setup of twin rear shocks. Both are also similar in braking — 320mm front and dual-channel ABS with 300mm rear discs. The seat height 800mm, curb weight makes both 243kg and fuel tank 14.8L the same.

However there is a slight difference in riding feel. The Classic 650 seems more comfortable and relaxed for long distances, while the Bullet 650 gives an upright and commanding riding position, giving a special royal feel to both the city and the highway.
Features and Technology

Both bikes meet modern needs according to features. LED headlamp-taillamp, Bluetooth-annealed instrument cluster, LCD display, USB Type-C charging port, tripper navigation, rotary switchgear and dual-channel ABS are both standard. The Classic 650 features a chrome finish and removable subframe giving a premium touch. At the same time, the Bullet 650’s minimalist design, hand-painted details and silhouette-focused bodies make it more heritage-focused, making it feel connected to the Royal Enfield’s Roots.
Which bike is better?

If you are looking for a modern-retro touring machine that has comfort, premium feel and long distance capability, then the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is the perfect option for you. At the same time, if you want Royal Enfield’s classic bullet detection, hand-painted retro feel, traditional riding stance and ‘Old-school’ Presence, the new Bullet 650 will be a better choice for you. Although the price of the Bullet 650 has not yet been announced, according to reports its booking may start soon.
