Honda Activa E Discontinued: India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturing company Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) According to media reports, its two major electric scooters Honda Activa E And Honda QC1 Production has been stopped. The special thing is that the company had introduced both these electric models in the market some time ago. Although no official statement has been given by Honda in this regard yet, the reports coming out continuously are confirming this big decision.

Reason for stopping production immediately after launch?

According to reports, the biggest reason is low market demand. Honda launched these electric scooters in February 2025. From then till July 2025, the company produced a total of 11,168 units. But, out of the 5,201 units shipped to dealers, a large number of scooters remained unsold, indicating weak sales performance. Experts say that the increasing options and price difference in the electric scooter segment affected the demand for these new models of Honda.

Honda Activa E: Range and price

Honda Activa E was specifically designed keeping daily urban use in mind. In this, the company had given a 1.5 kWh battery, which gave a range of 102 kilometers on a single charge. Talking about the price, its Road Sync Duo variant was available up to ₹ 1.51 lakh, while the price of the normal variant was kept at ₹ 1.17 lakh. Although the features were strong, the prices were higher than many competing brands, which made these options less attractive to customers.

Honda QC1: Range reduction, price difference

The Honda QC1 also had a 1.5 kWh battery, but its range was only 80 kilometres, which despite being sufficient for urban travel, was considered weaker than its competitors. The company had kept its ex-showroom price at ₹ 90,000. Low range and stiff competition further affected the sales of this model.

Low demand and increasing cost pressure

Media reports clearly state that HMSI was finding it difficult to balance production costs and customer demand. The result was that the company decided to stop the production of these two models completely, so that preparations could be made for better electric models in the future.
