Mumbai, 24 November. Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’ Dharmendra passed away today. He was 89 years old. Dharmendra breathed his last at his Juhu home. He was ill for a long time. He was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital on November 12 at the request of his family. Since then he was undergoing treatment at home.
Karan Johar has confirmed Dharmendra’s demise and paid tribute to him through his official social media account. Karan Johar wrote, It’s the end of an era, a huge megastar, the embodiment of a true hero in mainstream cinema, incredibly handsome and an enigmatic screen presence. He is and will always remain a true legend of Indian cinema.
His name will always shine in the pages of cinema history. But most of all, he was a wonderful human being. Everyone in our industry loved him immensely. He had only love and positivity in his heart for everyone. His blessings, wonderful affection, the absence of all this cannot be expressed in words.
There is such a void in our industry today. Which no one will ever be able to fill. He will remain the one and only Dharamji forever. Dharmendra was born on 08 December 1935 in Phagwara, Punjab. He started his cinema career with the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, released in the year 1960. Dharmendra acted in more than 250 films in his six decade long film career.

Kharge expressed on the demise of Dharmendra Sadness
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed grief over the demise of famous Bollywood actor Dharmendra. Mr. Kharge said in his post on social media, “The Indian film industry has lost a valuable star today. Dharmendra, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the year 2012, ruled the hearts of cinema lovers for decades and left a deep impression with his phenomenal acting and simple life. He further said, “The famous actor Dharmendra is no longer among us. Stay. His demise is the end of an era. In this hour of grief, I express my deepest condolences to his family and millions of fans. May God grant peace to his soul.”

Mr Gandhi wrote on his social media on Monday, “The news of the demise of great actor Dharmendra ji is extremely sad. It is an irreparable loss for the Indian art world. His unique contribution to cinema spanning almost seven decades will always be remembered with respect and love.” He further said, “I pay my heartfelt tribute to Dharmendra ji.
