Dharmendra Death: Indian cinema’s great actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. His demise is a great sorrow not only for his family but also for the entire film industry and his fans. The motion poster of his upcoming film ‘Iqkis’ was released on Monday itself, and now this news has become even more heartbreaking for his fans.
Dharmendra was suffering from breathing problems for some time, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was kept in ICU, but due to age and illness, the fight for his life ended. There has been a wave of mourning in Bollywood due to his demise.

Dharmendra’s wife Hema Malini, daughter Esha Deol, and other family members were present at the Pawan Hans crematorium for the last farewell. Amitabh Bachchan also arrived to pay his last respects to his close friend. Sadly, Dharmendra left this world just a few weeks before celebrating his 90th birthday.
Hospitalization and health
Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital on 10 November. According to initial reports, he was put on ventilator due to difficulty in breathing. However, sources close to the family said that it was a routine checkup, which he completed while staying in the hospital so that there was no need for frequent travelling.
His sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were currently busy shooting their films, but were constantly keeping an eye on their father’s health.
Glimpse of life and career
Dharmendra was born on 8 December 1935 in Nasrali village of Ludhiana, Punjab. His real name was Keval Krishna Deol. He spent his early life in the government schools of Sahnewal and Laltan Kalan, where his father was the principal.
At the age of 19, he married Prakash Kaur, and they had two sons (Sunny and Bobby) and two daughters (Vijeta and Ajeeta). After entering films, Hema Malini came into his life, with whom he married and had two daughters (Isha and Ahana).
Dharmendra debuted in Bollywood in 1960 with ‘Dil Bhi Tera, Hum Bhi Tere’. He got recognition among the audience with ‘Phool Aur Patthar’ released in 1966. The memorable films of his career include films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Sita Aur Geeta’, ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’, ‘Yadon Ki Baaraat’, ‘Dharamveer’, ‘Hukumat’ and ‘Chupke Chupke’.
Achievements and legacy
Dharmendra acted in more than 300 films in his career spanning over six decades. He was called the ‘He‑Man’ of Bollywood. In 1987, he gave seven hit films in just one year and created a record by giving nine successful films.
Even after the 1990s, she gave memorable performances in films like ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. Dharmendra may no longer be among us, but his films, his stories and his memories will always be alive in the hearts of people.
