BHIM App New Feature: The BHIM app has launched a new feature that allows family members to make payments from your UPI account, but you retain complete control. You can set transaction limits and receive notifications of each payment. This feature simplifies UPI payments, especially for those who are less tech-savvy. It ensures both security and convenience.

This feature in BHIM is called UPI Circle Full Delegation. Under this feature, any primary user can authorize their trusted contacts or family members, such as parents, grandparents, children, and staff members, to make UPI payments on their behalf up to ₹15,000. This feature is considered a game-changer, especially for senior citizens and young people who struggle with digital payments or whose expenses are controlled by their family.

This feature was introduced by NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL). The company says it will make everyday payments secure, transparent, and easy for families, staff, and small businesses.

How will the new feature work?
Under this feature, the primary user will allow a secondary user, such as family, staff, or a trusted individual, to make UPI payments on their behalf. The monthly spending limit can be set up to ₹15,000. This delegation can be valid for a period of one month to five years. All payments will be made directly from the primary user's bank account, but they will retain complete oversight and control. The secondary user will not need to link their own bank or UPI ID.

NBSL MD & CEO Lalitha Nataraj said that Full Delegation takes UPI Circle beyond real-time approval and enables reliable and secure autonomous payments. It strengthens the trust, flexibility, and accountability inherent in Indian families and businesses.

Who will benefit?
1. Senior Citizens

Senior citizens will benefit the most from this feature of the BHIM app. Families will be able to empower them with small payments and learn about digital payments.

2. Students
Students will also benefit from this feature. Parents will be able to securely allow them to make payments within a monthly spending limit.

3. Small Businesses
Businesses will be able to limit their staff's access to payments for fuel, tolls, or other expenses. This will reduce the hassle of cash handling and increase transparency.

4. Digitally Inexperienced People
Family or professionals will be able to help them pay for their daily needs, with real-time monitoring.

How to Use the UPI Circle Feature?
Open the BHIM app and go to the UPI Circle section.
Tap Invite to Circle and enter your contact number.
Enter the UPI ID of your trusted member or scan the QR.
Select Approve a Monthly Limit (Full Delegation).

The secondary user will accept the request and be able to make the payment after a short cooling-off period.
