The most-streamed series of the moment will have you second-guessing throughout its entirety. On Rotten Tomatoes' listing of the "25 Most Popular TV Shows Right Now", The Beast in Me comes in at number one. The Beast in Me is a psychological thriller television miniseries for Netflix. It stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys and is produced by Jodie Foster and Conan O'Brien.

First airing earlier this month, the series synopsis reads: "Author Aggie Wiggs has receded from public life since the death of her young son, unable to write, a ghost of her former self; but she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Jarvis."

The Beast in Me has racked up a solid 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics' consensus stating: "A cut above the usual murder mystery, The Beast in Me stages a psychological duel that crackles with tension thanks to Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys' superb performances."

One critic said: "The Beast in Me is dark, unsettling, and well-paced in its story. The performances from the cast elevate this otherwise simple (on the surface) mystery."

"Danes, as always, delivers a masterclass in vacillating vulnerability; in moments where the mask falls and in those where she smoothly puts it on," added another.

An audience viewer left a glowing review, they said: "Stellar show with powerful performances by Matthew Rhys and Claire Danes! Every step along the way, I was entrenched in the emotional journey Danes takes us on - raw, visceral and completely entrenched in the inner chaos of her character's mind. They are both complex yet completely believable."

Another added: "This is one of THE BEST series I have seen in a very long time. Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys had chemistry I have not seen in quite some time as well. While all the cast did a superb job, I especially enjoyed Jonathan Banks, Tim Guinee, and Deirdre O'Connell, who, by the way, looks terrific. Gabe Rotter hit the jackpot with his creation. It's one of those series that you just can't wait to watch the next episode. It wasn't predictable, parts of it were heart-wrenching, suspenseful, and believable."

"Simply Outstanding !! As limited series go, each one of these episodes was excellent. In summary, it was an innovative plot, with a perfect combination of spectacular actors, twists and story lines. The cinematography was terrific, too. We watched two at a time and then devoured the last 3 episodes of the series. Highly recommended," said a third.

The Beast in Me is available to stream now on Netflix.
