Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for playing Brad Taylor on the hit sitcom Home Improvement, is once again facing legal trouble. The actor was arrested in Oregon over the weekend after allegedly violating the terms of his probation, according to TMZ.
Bryan, who is currently serving a three-year probation term set to expire in October 2026, was taken into custody on Saturday (Nov. 29). The violation stems from conditions tied to his previous domestic violence conviction. He has been denied bail and is expected to remain in jail until December 3, the outlet noted.
Bryan’s girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was arrested during the same incident. According to the report, she faces five charges, including DUI, three counts of reckless endangerment, and attempted first-degree assault. Cartwright is scheduled to be arraigned on December 1.
Bryan’s probation traces back to a 2020 drunken dispute in Oregon involving Cartwright, which led to his conviction for menacing. He was already on probation when this latest incident occurred.
Since then, he has been arrested in Oklahoma for DUI and in South Carolina for allegedly assaulting and strangling Cartwright, marking a series of legal troubles that have followed him in recent years.
His latest arrest also comes weeks after another woman was granted a five-year restraining order against him. She alleged that Bryan punched her and threatened to kill her in July.
Earlier this month, the actor issued a statement to TMZ apologizing for his actions and saying he is on a “journey toward personal growth.”
