World AIDS Day 2025: World AIDS Day (World AIDS Day 2025) is celebrated every year on 1 December across the world. This day is special for awareness about AIDS disease and prevention of the disease. Efforts are on to eradicate this disease from its roots and this disease is treated through medicines. Very few people know about the true facts of this disease. Because of this, we believe what we hear from people, which becomes a myth.

Everyone gives advice to the other person according to their knowledge, but they do not know how true each thing is. Let us know today which are the myths which do not give correct information about the disease.

Know which myths of AIDS are not true

If we keep giving information about AIDS disease here, many myths or lies come to the fore which do not explain the disease correctly.

First myth- HIV/AIDS spreads through water

Truth- The truth behind this myth says that AIDS does not spread through water. Bathing in the swimming pool of an HIV patient, washing his clothes or drinking the dirty water does not spread the virus to anyone else. Even if a person suffering from HIV uses the bathroom, this virus does not spread to other people. Believe in its truth and not in its myth.

Second myth- HIV/AIDS spreads through kissing

Truth- Many people think that AIDS is spread by kissing an infected person’s partner. It is wrong to think that this really happens. The saliva of positive victims contains this virus in very small quantities, which does not spread to the other person through kissing.

Third myth- HIV/AIDS spreads in the air

Truth- If we know the truth behind this myth, this virus is not going to spread or fly in the air. This means that if a person suffering from HIV coughs, sneezes or spits around you, you will not get infected with this virus. Apart from this, this virus does not spread by touching the affected person, hugging them or shaking hands.

Fourth Myth- Spread from one person to another

Truth- If we know the truth behind this myth, the truth is that this virus can spread only from an HIV positive person to others. HIV is spread through unsafe sex, used syringes, HIV infected blood transfusion or organ transplant. If a pregnant woman is suffering from this virus then the unborn child may have this virus.

Fifth myth- HIV spreads through mosquito bites.

Truth – It is said that even if a mosquito that has bitten an HIV/AIDS patient bites you, the virus does not spread.

Sixth Myth – Tattoos or piercings can cause HIV/AIDS

Truth- If we know the truth behind this myth, then this case is possible only if the tattoo or piercing artist has used the needle used on an HIV positive person without cleaning it. However, the artist uses new needles for every client.
