Thyroid is a hormonal problem caused by an unbalanced amount of hormones produced by the thyroid gland. This gland is located in the front part of the throat and controls the body’s metabolism, energy level, weight and heart rate. There are two main types of thyroid:
Hypothyroidism: Thyroid hormone deficiency
Hyperthyroidism: Excess of thyroid hormone
Today we will know why thyroid increases, what are its main reasons and how it can be controlled through prevention and treatment.
Main reasons for increase in thyroid
- Iodine deficiency or excess
Iodine is necessary to make thyroid hormones.
Both deficiency or excessive intake can affect the thyroid.
Seafood, eggs and milk contain adequate amounts of iodine.

When the body’s immune system mistakenly damages the thyroid gland.

Thyroid problem is increasing, but it can be controlled with correct information, balanced diet, regular exercise and mental balance. If you recognize the symptoms on time and get a checkup done by a doctor, the effects of both hypo and hyperthyroidism can be reduced.
