Tharoor Absent from Congress Meet: Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor was again absent from the meeting of the High Power Strategy Group chaired by Sonia Gandhi at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on November 30, a day before the winter session of Parliament starting from today. This was the second consecutive big meeting of Congress in a few days, in which Tharoor was absent. Due to this, questions are being raised in the inner corridors of the party whether this is just a coincidence or something else. Speculations about Shashi Tharoor preparing to leave the party have again heated up the market.

In fact, only last week, Shashi Tharoor had distanced himself from the Congress high command meeting called on the Sam Pitroda controversy and SIR issue citing health reasons. Just a day before, he was present at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program and praised him on social media platform X. This post of Tharoor had created resentment in the Congress camp.

Did not even attend the meeting of 30th November

On Tharoor’s absence from the November 30 meeting, his office said the MP was busy taking care of his 90-year-old mother at his ancestral home in Thiruvananthapuram and campaigning for the civic polls. It is noteworthy that Congress National Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal could not reach Delhi to attend the meeting on November 30, citing preparations and publicity for the civic elections. Let us tell you, civic elections in Kerala are to be held on 9 and 11 December.

Repeatedly soft attitude towards Modi government

Tharoor’s repeated soft stance towards the Modi government and statements different from the party line have already become a cause of discomfort for the Congress. Recently, on several occasions he has praised the government’s foreign policy, economy and some bills. Congress has been calling this their personal opinion. Party sources say that everyone has to fulfill personal and regional responsibilities, but when you remain absent from strategy meetings before the Parliament session, a wrong message is sent. Workers and other MPs are noticing this.
