The Goa-based Big Daddy Casino group on Friday refuted reports of seizures at its properties, nearly a month after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced it had recovered Rs 2.25 crore in cash and foreign currency during searches across multiple states, reported PTI on October 24.

In an official statement, the group — comprising M/s Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd, M/s Worldwide Resorts and Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Big Daddy Casino in Goa, and Strike Casino — said it has been fully cooperating with authorities in relation to the ED’s operations conducted on September 28 at 15 locations in Goa, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Rajkot, said the report.

The ED had earlier stated on September 29 that the raids resulted in the seizure of Rs 2.25 crore in cash and foreign currency valued at Rs 8.5 lakh, as part of an investigation under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) involving the casino group and linked companies.

Clarifying the scope of the searches, Big Daddy Casino said only four of the locations targeted were associated with the company — two operational casino properties in Goa and two office premises in Goa and Gurgaon, said the PTI report.

According to the report, the group asserted that no cryptocurrency, foreign currency, or illegal funds were recovered from its establishments, calling reports suggesting otherwise “factually incorrect.” It also rejected allegations tying the companies to online gaming operations, emphasizing that they operate only licensed, land-based casinos. Any online activities involving individuals connected to the organization, it said, were independent and without company approval.

The group reiterated its commitment to transparency and regulatory compliance, and stated that cooperation with authorities will continue.
