According to a report, more than 150 people have died so far in Sri Lanka. More than 191 people are reported missing.

More than a dozen areas have been submerged. Road traffic and air travel have been affected. A large number of tourists are also stranded at airports. Now, Ditva may wreak havoc in Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas.

NDRF teams were sent from Gujarat
To monitor the situation, the government has started relief and rescue operations. To ensure the safety of people, six teams of 6th battalion of NDRF have been sent from Vadodara to Chennai. NDRF teams have been sent by air.

Warning of heavy rain in these areas

The Meteorological Department has warned that Cyclone Ditva may move towards the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast by the morning of November 30. There is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts. IMD has issued warning of heavy rain in Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Viluppuram, Chengalpattu, Puducherry-Karaikal and Thanjavur.

Tiruchirappalli, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Ranipet have also been included in it. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Vellore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul and Theni.
