What will happen if the linking is not completed by the deadline?

If a person fails to link their PAN with Aadhaar by the due date, their PAN card will become inactive from January 1, 2026. An inactive PAN card means they will be unable to perform many important financial and legal tasks.

Step 4: Upon submitting the details, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter it to complete the verification.
Step 5: If your PAN is already inactive, you will need to pay a fee of ₹1,000 to activate it.
Step 6: After completing the process, go to 'Quick Links' and check the status using the 'Link Aadhaar Status' option.
