Train Cancelled: Cold has completely knocked in North India and along with it the effect of dense fog has also started becoming visible. Keeping this in view, this year also the Railways has made major changes in the operation of trains from 1 December to 28 February. According to the order issued from Moradabad Railway Division, 46 mail, express and passenger trains passing through Bareilly will be canceled for three months. Apart from this, the frequency of many trains has also been reduced.

Railway officials say that visibility becomes extremely low during fog, which makes it difficult to see signals and poses a major safety risk. Besides, incidents of cracking and breaking of railway tracks are also common in winter. For this reason, every year during the fog season, many trains are temporarily closed or their trips are reduced. 6 passenger and MEMU trains running from Bareilly will also remain canceled during this period.

Important trains canceled this time include 14324 New Delhi–Bareilly Intercity, 14014 Anand Vihar Terminal–Saharanpur Express, 14235 Varanasi–Bareilly Express, 15012 Chandausi–Lucknow Express, and 14311 Alwar–Bareilly Passenger. Apart from these, many passenger trains like trains running on Roza-Bareilly, Bareilly-Moradabad, Moradabad-Ghaziabad, Bareilly-Delhi, and Shahjahanpur-Sitapur routes will also remain closed for three months.

Instead of stopping some trains completely, their frequency has been reduced. This includes major trains like Kathgodam – Jammu Tawi, Jammu Tawi – Kathgodam, Kanpur – Kathgodam and Kathgodam – Kanpur. Many of their trips in December, January and February have been canceled on their scheduled dates.

The direct impact of cancellation of trains will be seen on roadways buses. Due to the impact of rail services on Delhi, Lucknow, Pilibhit and Badaun routes, the burden of passengers will now increase on buses. In view of this, Regional Manager of Transport Corporation Deepak Chaudhary has instructed the officials of Bareilly, Rohilkhand, Badaun and Pilibhit depots to put additional buses on these routes, so that the passengers do not have to wait. However, generally during winter season the number of passengers reduces by 25-30%.
