New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz AMG have given the first official teaser of the electric AMG GT four-door coupe. The model is set to make global debut in 2026 and will be the first production AMG made on the new AMG Electric Architecture (AMG.EA). It has been something that the brand has been developing for quite some time now.
The teaser appears as a short promotional film featuring Hollywood actor Brad Pitt and Mercedes F1 driver George Russell, placing the new GT as part of AMG’s performance and motorsport lineage. AMG is currently also developing a full-size electric SUV on this same platform, which will likely arrive a year after the four-door coupe.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Four-Door Coupe EV will lead the brand’s EV charge
The GT Four-Door Coupe EV comes with the signature long bonnet, the low fastback shape of the present model. The EV comes with smoother surfaces, a cleaner front fascia and flush door handles, which are to improve aerodynamics. The roofline and back section also feel more streamlined, suggesting AMG is more focused on reducing drag for the electric setup.
Production-ready lighting and finished bodywork indicate the prototype is near completion. Even though the interior hasn’t been shown, the exterior stance indicates AMG want to retain the look their combustion models have while adapting the design to fit an EV platform.

The GT Four-Door Coupe EV will be the first model to come with AMG’s new AMG.EA electric platform. The configuration is made around a high-performance battery and new electric motors made specifically for AMG. These motors, made to be compact and deliver high numbers, are expected to maintain the same performance during repeated acceleration runs.
AMG have hinted that the use of axial-flux motors and a liquid-cooled battery system for this platform. The main focus is on making an efficient cooling and stable power delivery, both of which will be key to positioning the GT EV as the performance-oriented food-door model.
In the film, the GT Four-Door Coupe EV was shown, which confirms that the prototype is already in the advanced stage of testing. The teaser came during the Las Vegas GP weekend, where AMG also previewed the car to a selected audience. AMG will be giving spec details as the 2026 global unveiling closes. The model will be leading the charge for the brand’s upcoming wave of electric performance cars.
