Delhi Hot Air Balloon Ride
Yamuna Riverfront Aerial View: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) launched the capital's first-ever hot air balloon rides on Saturday, November 29th. Starting at Asita East Park, visitors had the opportunity to board tethered balloons that took them to heights of 100 to 150 feet. From above, a beautiful view of the Yamuna's newly renovated floodplain, the city's skyline, and the surrounding greenery is clearly visible. This initiative follows recent successful trials by the DDA at Bansera Park, also located on the Yamuna floodplain.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena personally inspected the trial flight and described it as a "unique first-time experience for Delhiites." He wrote on social media that the ride was fully operated by trained experts and followed all safety standards.
Where to get its ride
Now let's talk about where you can get a ride. According to media reports, the DDA is launching this ride in stages at four locations.
- Asita East Park (the first location where public rides began)
- Bansera Park
- Yamuna Sports Complex
- Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex
During the ride, the balloon reaches a height of about 120 feet, from where the Yamuna Riverfront, parks, and major landmarks of the city are clearly visible.
Ticket price, and when will the ride be available?
The ride opened to the public at Asita Park on November 29th. According to media reports, the estimated ticket price is ₹3,000 plus GST per person. A balloon basket can seat 3 to 5 people at a time, including the pilot. However, larger baskets can be installed depending on need and demand, accommodating 8 to 10 people. Ride timings are set to be from 3:30 pm to 7 pm daily. In the coming days, the service will gradually be extended to Bansera, Yamuna Sports Complex, and CWG Sports Complex.
