Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s sizzling romance *Tere Ishq Mein* has taken Indian theaters by storm, crossing the ₹50 crore mark in a blockbuster opening weekend, which shows the star power of the pair. Directed by Aanand L. as a spiritual sequel to 2013’s *Raanjhanaa*. Directed by Rai, the musical drama has earned a nett of ₹51.75 crore in the country by Sunday, November 30, 2025, as per Sacnilk estimates – driven by rising daily collections and strong word-of-mouth.
The film took a strong opening with a nett collection of ₹16 crore on Friday, 28 November, which remained stable at ₹17 crore on Saturday amidst the buzz of multiplexes. On Sunday it reached ₹18.75 crore, an increase of 10%, with 32.82% Hindi occupancy (up from 45.63% in the evening). Worldwide, it earned ₹71.85 crore, including ₹5 crore overseas, making it Dhanush’s second-highest weekend gross after *Raanjhanaa* (₹19.9 Cr) – which is soon set to cross its lifetime tally of ₹60.22 Cr.
Basically, *Tere Ishq Mein* (*In Your Love*) shows the dark side of obsessive love. Shankar Gurukkal (Dhanush), the flirtatious president of Delhi University, sets his sights on sympathetic PhD scholar Mukti Behanwal (Kriti Sanon) in the spiritual fog of Banaras. What begins as college flirting turns into a jealous mayhem—gasoline threats, arson, alcoholism—that tests one’s courage amid themes of liberation and angst. Critics praised the lead actors’ raw chemistry: Dhanush’s dark intensity and Sanon’s heartfelt vulnerability shine through, enhanced by heart-touching tracks like AR Rahman’s title anthem. The supporting roles of Tota Roy Chowdhury (Mukti’s IAS dad), Prakash Raj (Shankar’s anchor), Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Vineet Kumar Singh add gravitas to it, although some may find the melodrama dated.
Older songs pale in comparison to this. Farhan Akhtar’s war epic *120 Bahadur* stalls at ₹16.94 Cr after 10 days, and collects only ₹0.79 Cr on 10th day. Was able to earn. Milap Zaveri’s *Masti 4* earned ₹14.44 Crore in the same time, and amid franchise fatigue, earned just ₹0.20 Cr on Sunday. Earn. Ajay Devgan’s rom-com *De De Pyaar De 2* held steady at ₹71.10 Cr after 17 days, adding another ₹1.40 Cr—its strongest day in recent times but falling short against the new film.
With less competition ahead and overwhelming fan appreciation (8.3/10 IMDb), *Tere Ishq Mein* is expected to earn more than ₹100 Cr, and the Rai-Dhanush magic is still there.
