New Delhi/Lucknow, 1 December. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav accused the Election Commission of fulfilling the dream of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that pressure is being created to conduct Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in a hurry due to which many employees have lost their lives. Akhilesh Yadav told reporters in the Parliament complex on Monday that through SIR, BJP is getting the names of voters of opposition parties removed from the voter list. He said that the entire process of SIR is being done deliberately during the wedding season. During this time, people go from one place to another on the pretext of getting their votes.
He said that it has also been seen that many employees engaged in SIR have lost their lives. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are under so much pressure to distribute and fill the forms that they are sacrificing their lives. The family of a BLO alleges that he was being pressurized to vote. These BLOs are wandering in the streets. Working day and night. Why this hurry? There is no election in Uttar Pradesh yet. If you have time now, you would have done this work comfortably.
The Election Commission wants to fulfill BJP’s dream in this democracy so that the votes of opposition parties are cut off. He said that BJP is getting the SIR done to divert attention from the real issues. This kind of work is being done so that there is no discussion on unemployment in the country. In response to a question, he said that everyone knows who does drama. The BLOs who lost their lives in SIR, is it a drama? BJP has also done drama to stop voters from voting. He said that we want that the work of SIR should be done honestly and no voter should be left out.
