Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued an important warning to mobile users across the country. Under this warning, if you also get a call regarding KYC update or SIM closure, then be careful because this is a new way for fraudsters. Recently it has been seen that cyber criminals are making fake calls to people by claiming to be TRAI officials. In this call, people are threatened that if they do not update their KYC, their SIM will be deactivated.

TRAI has clarified that it never calls itself for KYC or other matters. Apart from this, for your information, let us tell you that TRAI does not have the right to block any mobile number. In case of wrong KYC or outstanding bill, only telecom companies like Jio, Airtel etc. can block the number.

  • Do this when you get a fake call

TRAI has also clarified that it has not allowed any external agency to make calls to KYC of SIM. TRAI has advised users not to trust any such calls and to immediately complain about the number.

To lodge a complaint, all you have to do is call the National Cyber ​​Helpline number 1930.

Also, use Sanchar Saathi portal or app.

Go to the app and select “Chakshu” option and fill the complete details of that call.

According to the information received, the Government of India is preparing to replace the old SIM cards. It is believed that the government is preparing to introduce new technology by removing old SIM cards. This step is being taken after investigation by the country’s cyber security agency.
