Gwalior: A new controversy has arisen over Bageshwar Dham chief Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s appeal to Hindus to have four children. Mohsin Rehman, a Muslim scholar from Gwalior and Sadar of Moti Masjid, raised direct questions on Shastri regarding this statement and said that there is no need to ask any religious guru as to how many children should be there in the family.

Expressing concern over the declining population of Hindus in a public program, Dhirendra Shastri had said that Hindus should have at least four children. His statement has created a sharp reaction in religious and social circles.

Dhirendra Shastri’s comment on Hindu population

In his statement, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri had said that when uncles can have thirty children, then why Hindus cannot have four? While appealing to Hindus to have four children, he also said that we will not let this country become Ghazwa-e-Hind, we have to make it ‘Saffron India’.

Shastri also told in front of the camera where Hindus should send their four children. Hindus should keep two children with themselves, send one of the remaining two children to serve the country and give one child to the saints who will work for the Hindu nation.

Mohsin Rahman’s question

Sadar Mohsin Rehman of Gwalior’s Moti Masjid reacted strongly to Shastri’s statement. He said that how much has the Muslim population increased in the country and how much has the Hindu population increased and what is the population of the entire country, will I have to go to Baba, Saint or any mosque, temple or gurudwara and ask what should be the population of my own house?

‘Dhirendra Shastri does not have correct figures of Muslim population’

Mohsin Rehman also said that Pandit Dhirendra Shastri does not have correct figures of Muslim population. He said that in the census conducted between 1947 and 1951, the population in that part of India was around 36 crores, out of which 30 crores were Hindus and they do not have the population figures in 2025.
