New Delhi:On Monday, at around 6.30 pm, Parry had left home for the gym with his car and as soon as he reached Timber Market, the Creta car coming from behind overtook him and blocked the way. As soon as the car stopped completely, the attackers sitting in the other car started firing continuously at his driver’s seat, due to which he could not understand anything. The incident happened so fast that Parry got badly injured on the spot and fell down and blood spread inside the car. This attack was completely planned, at close range and in a very lethal manner. People ran as soon as they heard the gunshots but the attackers fled within seconds.

Why did the accused escape within a few seconds?

As soon as the firing took place, people from nearby shops came out, but as soon as the attackers saw the crowd, they quickly turned their Creta and fled away, cutting through the roads of Sector-26. When the local people somehow opened the car door, they found Parry lying soaked in blood and the police was immediately called. He was taken to PGI in a critical condition, where the doctors tried hard but the many bullets in his body did not give him a chance to survive. The hospital declared him dead and the news spread like wildfire throughout the city.

Why were all the entry points of the city sealed?

As soon as information about the murder was received, Sector-26 police station, forensic team and crime branch reached the spot and recovered several bullet shells, blood samples and projectiles from the car. Senior officials immediately ordered closure of all entry gates of Chandigarh and intensified checking. The police kept blocking roads, toll points and borders throughout the night. The technical surveillance team has started scanning the cameras of the area so that the vehicle, number plate and route of the attackers can be identified.

Who was Parry and why was he the target?

Inderpreet Singh alias Perry’s name has been involved in criminal activities for a long time and a total of 12 cases are registered against him. He had recently come out on bail and the police were keeping an eye on his every movement. Perry’s family is from a police background – father is a retired inspector and brother is a constable in Punjab Police. Investigation has revealed that Parry had links with notorious gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Sampat Nehra, due to which the scope of his enmity was also quite large.

In the initial investigation, the police are linking it to a possible gang war because the old rivalry between the Bambiha Group and the Lawrence Gang has been coming to the fore again and again. Officials believe that this attack could also be revenge for old disputes. Many times before, these gangs have targeted each other’s people, and Parry’s murder could be a big blow in the same sequence.

Will the police be able to reach the killers soon?

At present, the police is trying to reach the attackers on the basis of technical surveillance, mobile location, statements of witnesses and crime pattern. The city may be looking peaceful, but the police are claiming that the killers will be identified soon. Many teams have also been sent to the Punjab-Haryana border so that suspicious vehicles can be tracked. Officials say that the faster this attack was, the longer its preparation must have taken and the investigation is being carried forward in this connection.
