SSC Constable GD recruitment process begins; 10th-grade pass candidates should apply by December 31st; CISF and CRPF have the most opportunities.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the registration process for the recruitment of Constable (GD) and Rifleman (GD) positions in the Central Armed Police Forces, Secretariat Security Force, and Assam Rifles. This is a golden opportunity for young people dreaming of a job in the country's security forces. The application process has begun on December 1st, 2025, and candidates can submit their applications until December 31st, 2025.

This year's recruitment drive is significantly larger, with a total of 25,487 positions being filled. Of these, the largest number of openings are available for the two major forces: CISF (14,595) and CRPF (5,490). Thousands of vacancies will also be filled in the BSF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles, and SSF. According to the Commission, the SSC GD computer-based exam will be conducted between February and April 2026.

What will happen when?

Regarding the application process, forms can be filled out until December 31st, while the last date for fee payment is January 1st, 2026, at 11 pm. If any errors remain in the application, candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections from January 8th to 10th, 2026. After this, the computer-based exam will be conducted between February and April, in which millions of youth will participate.

How many recruitments will be made in which force?

This time, the SSC has set a target of recruiting a total of 25,487 posts. The BSF will recruit 616 posts. CISF, the largest security force, will recruit 14,595 vacancies this time. The CRPF, which carries out the largest security responsibility across the country, will recruit for 5,490 posts. This will be followed by 1,764 posts in the SSB, 1,293 posts in the ITBP, 1,706 posts in the Assam Rifles, and 23 posts in the Secretariat Security Force. A total of 23,467 posts are reserved for male candidates and 2,020 for female candidates.

10th-passed candidates can also apply.

The educational qualification for the SSC GD Constable is quite simple. Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board. This means that even those with less education can get a government job through this recruitment.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 23 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to SC, ST, OBC, and ex-servicemen as per government rules.

Selection Process

SSC GD recruitment is conducted in several stages. First, there will be a Computer Based Test (CBT), which will include questions on general knowledge, reasoning, mathematics, and English/Hindi. This will be followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), where candidates will be evaluated on the basis of running, height, and other physical parameters. Candidates who qualify in these three stages will undergo a medical examination and document verification. Finally, selected candidates will be appointed to the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, or SSF.

Salary:

Candidates receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100, including dearness allowance, risk allowance, rations, uniforms, medical expenses, and travel allowances.

What is the application fee?

The application fee is ₹100. However, no fee will be charged for women, SC/ST candidates, and ex-servicemen.

  • Complete your One-Time Registration (OTR) on the website.
  • After registration, log in and click on the Constable GD Exam 2026 application link.
  • Fill out the application form correctly and ensure all information matches the documents.
  • Take your photo using the live camera on the website.
  • Upload a scanned copy of your signature in JPEG format.
  • If a fee is applicable, pay via UPI, net banking, or card.
  • Recheck the application once and submit it.
  • Finally, download a copy of the form and keep it for future reference.
