An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Hyderabad made an emergency landing in Mumbai after authorities received a bomb threat email at Hyderabad Airport.
IndiGo flight 6E-1234 departed Kuwait on Tuesday and headed toward Hyderabad. Officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received an alarming email claiming anti-social elements planned to use remote-controlled explosives once the aircraft landed in Hyderabad. Responding immediately, authorities diverted the flight to Mumbai as a precaution.
The aircraft landed safely at Mumbai Airport and moved to an isolation bay for thorough security checks. Security teams and law enforcement agencies coordinated to investigate the threat. IndiGo confirmed that passengers remained safe throughout the incident.
Authorities reported that the threat email also mentioned a “human bomb” on board. Following established security protocols, IndiGo informed relevant agencies and cooperated fully with the investigation. The airline emphasised its commitment to passenger safety, stating that crew members provided refreshments and regular updates to minimise inconvenience.
Police and airport officials continue to examine the source of the threat while ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft. The incident highlights the importance of swift response and coordination between airlines and security agencies during emergencies.
