Now daily essentials items will be available cheaper online in Delhi. Government is going to open more than 2000 stores

Delhi government is coming up with a new and unique scheme, which will benefit lakhs of people living in housing societies. Now you will not need to go out of the society gate for small things like milk, bread or pickles.

Key Highlights of the scheme:

 

  • Large scope: present in Delhi more than 2000 These stores or stalls will be opened in housing co-operative societies.

  • How many people benefit: In these societies almost 8 lakhs More than 100,000 people live there who will get direct benefits.

  • Employment Opportunities: Since the beginning of this scheme, almost Employing 10,000 people Hope to meet.


What goods will be available at these stores?

 

According to Cooperative Minister Ravindra Inderjit Singh, daily needs and products made by self-help groups (SHGs) will be available at these shops:

Category available goods
daily needs Milk, papad, pickles, incense sticks, soap, spices, ration items etc.
Handicrafts and Decoration Wooden items, indigenous textiles, jewellery, pottery and home decoration items.

Preparing for the future: online delivery too

 

The government is also working on modernizing the scheme:

  1. First Step: Physical stores will be opened only within the societies.

  2. Next Step (Online): The stores will be linked to the online platform. With this, not only the people of that society, but also the people of other nearby societies will be able to order goods online.

 

This scheme is like “One Panth, Two Work” – the people of the society will get facilities near their homes and thousands of people will also get employment.
