UP Politics: The BJP central leadership has almost finalized the name of the party’s next UP state president and tried to reach a consensus on it in a meeting with senior RSS functionaries, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other prominent BJP leaders from the state on Monday in Lucknow. The name can be announced this month.

According to the Indian Express report, BJP’s national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh and RSS co-secretary Arun Kumar discussed this with Sangh officials from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Awadh region at a hotel on Monday afternoon. After that, in the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, he informed the leadership choice to CM Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, current state BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary and state General Secretary (Organization) Dharampal Singh.

9 names were discussed

BJP sources in the report said that in a recent meeting held in Delhi, the central leadership had considered nine names for the post, out of which three were from Brahmin, three OBC and three Dalit communities.

Let us inform that the top leadership of BJP and Sangh also discussed many other issues in Monday’s “Vichar Parivar Meeting”. These included the completion of the construction of the main temple in the Ayodhya Ram temple complex, the Yogi government’s plan to create temporary detention centers for “infiltrators” and “illegal immigrants” in every district and the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list released in the state.

According to the news, senior leaders of both BJP and RSS have expressed dissatisfaction over the report of the party’s SIR monitoring team, which said that ministers, MPs and other MLAs i.e. elected representatives are not showing the required interest in overseeing the SIR process.
