The work of laying about 425 km long third railway line from Barabanki to Chhapra via Gorakhpur is progressing rapidly. Along with this, complete preparations are also going on to lay the fourth line in the future. This project will not only increase the convenience of passengers but will also ease the operation of goods trains.

Ghaghra Ghat-Burhwal section ready, operation will start soon

An important phase of this ambitious project, the construction of the third line from Ghaghra Ghat to Burhwal has now been completed. The new railway bridge built on the Ghaghra River in this section is being considered the main achievement of the project. On December 5, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (North-East Circle) will inspect and speed trial this new line. Regular operation of trains on this route is expected to start as soon as the inspection is completed.

Multitracking work going on at a fast pace

According to Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, the work of multitracking is going on rapidly in the entire zone. Upon its completion, the capacity of train operation will increase and punctuality will also improve significantly. The third line has already been commissioned in Chhapra Rural-Chhapra and Kusmhi-Domingarh sections. In the same sequence, the third line from Gonda Kachhari to Ghaghra Ghat has also been commissioned in the Gonda-Burhwal (61.72 km) section.

How will travel change?

With the opening of the third railway line, passengers will get many benefits. The number of trains can be increased, which will reduce crowding. By increasing the line capacity, punctuality of trains will improve. The operation of goods trains will speed up, which will give impetus to economic activities in the area. Travel between neighboring states and districts will become better and seamless.

project cost

The Gonda-Burhwal Third Line project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 1117 crore. After the completion of this entire project, the problem of jam on important routes of North Eastern Railway will end to a great extent. Railway officials say that after the third line, the work of the fourth line is also in the plan, due to which in the coming years this entire corridor can be included among the busiest and most modern railway routes of the country.
