Desk: Meta and Ray-Ban have together launched their new smart glasses Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI in India. It has sharper 3K Ultra HD video than before, double the battery life and upgraded Meta AI features. The new generation also includes support for ultrawide HDR, 48-hour power backup case and fast charging. The company has given great features like many new styles, limited edition colors and Hindi interaction. The special thing is that soon UPI Lite payment can also be done directly through glasses.b

The price of these smart glasses starts at Rs 39,900 and will be available at optical retailers across the country including Ray-Ban India. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 has been launched in popular styles like Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner. This year’s color options include Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet and Shiny Asteroid Grey.

Meta AI has become smarter and the command “Hey Meta” provides instant information, suggestions and creative prompts. Conversation Focus feature has also been added to it which helps in hearing the voice clearly even in noisy environments. The biggest thing is that these glasses provide complete Hindi interaction support.

Meta AI has recently introduced the Celebrity AI Voice feature, under which users can now interact with Deepika Padukone’s AI voice. Many other celebrity voices are also available in the global lineup. Soon it will also be possible to make UPI Lite payments directly from Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2. The user will be able to simply look at the QR and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay” and the payment will be made through the bank account linked to WhatsApp. This feature is being introduced to make everyday transactions simpler and faster than before.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 has 3K Ultra HD video capture and UltraWide HDR support, making videos sharper and more stable than before. The company has claimed double the battery life, which can now last up to 8 hours. The glasses fast charge up to 50% in 20 minutes and the included charging case provides an additional backup of 48 hours. New capture modes like hyperlapse and slow-motion will also be available soon through software update.
