CBSE Board 2026 Practical Exam: An important update has come out for the students preparing for CBSE Board Exam 2026. The Board of Secondary Education has issued new guidelines and SOP regarding practical exams of class 10th and 12th. This time, from the date of practicals, method of taking the exam, uploading of marks to the examiner, many rules will be different from before. In such a situation, it is very important for students, teachers and schools to understand these changes so that they do not face any kind of problem during the exam.

When will the practical exams be held?

  • Practical examinations in winter bound schools will run from 6 November to 6 December 2025.
  • These examinations will be conducted between January 1 and February 14, 2026 in regular suspension schools.
  • CBSE has clarified that practical, project, internal assessment will be conducted only for those regular students who have been sent by schools through LOC and whose documents related to student status are correct.

What is the new change in 10th board practical this time?

The board will not provide practical copies of Class 10 to schools. Now schools will have to prepare answer copies on their own. No external examiner will be appointed for the 10th practical examination. The entire process will be handled by internal teachers only.

What are the strict rules for 12th board practical?

Class 12 practical exams will be under the supervision of the board. CBSE will send an external examiner to every school, who will conduct practical and project assessment.

How to get marks of private students?

For students appearing in the private category, their practical, project, internal assessment marks will be awarded as per the existing policy and examination bylaws of CBSE.

New rules for uploading marks

Schools will have to upload the marks simultaneously as soon as the practicals start. Internal and external examiners should note that once the marks are uploaded, no changes will be made in them. CBSE has made it clear that practical marks will not be disclosed to the students under any circumstances. Marks will be saved directly in the board system.
