Dharmendra leaves ancestral property worth Rs 5 crore to his nephews

Mumbai: Late actor Dharmendra gifted his ancestral property to his nephews. According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, the actor gifted the land, valued at Rs 5 crore, to his uncle’s sons to ensure their and their families’ security. The actor, born in Nasrali with ancestral ties to Dango in Ludhiana, shared an emotional bond with his place of birth.

During his formative years, Dharmendra lived in a humble home built with mud and brick. The house is still intact and is taken care of by the actor’s relatives. Despite moving to Mumbai and creating a professional and personal career of his own, the actor kept returning to his native. As per sources, Dharmendra visited Dango after the shoot of the film in 2013. The villagers recollected seeing Dharmendra stepping out of his car and touching the soil of his courtyard to his forehead.

The actor then visited the property in 2025. It was then that he legally transferred the property into the hands of his relatives, who took care of the place in his absence.

The actor’s decision to gift the property to his nephews was appreciated by those in the village.  Boota Singh, one of his nephews, works at a textile mill in Ludhiana, remembered the actor with love. Another relative said that the legendary actor never looked at the property for its value. However, thought of it as home.

Dharmendra left behind his other assets for his family and kids, Sunny, Bobby, Ajeita, Vijeta, Esha and Ahana Deol. His death left his fans, family and industry friends in deep sorrow. Dharmendra was 89 years old. He was suffering from health issues for a long time. He had been discharged from Breach Candy in Mumbai, just two weeks before his passing. Several of his fans and friends took to social media to remember the great actor he was.
