Martin Kemp's wife Shirlie has revealed her concerns over the way her husband is behaving on I'm a Celebrity.

The Spandau Ballet star is a camper on the ITV show and has proved to be popular with both his fellow contestants and viewers. But Shirlie - who has been married to Martin since 1988 - has admitted she thinks he is being a little bit "quiet" and needs to do more.

Appearing on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday (December 2), she even called for her hubby to be given more Bushtucker trials.

Shirlie, who is in Australia supporting her husband while he is in the jungle, told host Lorraine Kelly: "I think Martin's been quite quiet, though, because I think that's who he is. He's quite quiet and he likes to listen. So sometimes I want to say, 'Martin, come on, do more.'

"But I think it's a good detox and a rest for him."

Lorraine replied: "Sometimes it's the people who are quite quiet that can actually do better as it goes along. The big, loud characters tend to get sort of voted out quite, quite quickly. And you know there's huge affection for him."

The TV presenter suggested Martin was in the competition for the long haul, but Shirlie responded: "Well, I don't know, because he needs more trials. He's not doing enough."

"I think he's very comfortable," she added.

"He's not doing anything to annoy anyone, so no one's voting him to do a horrible trial."

"So, we do need to see him do some more trials, because I think he'd be up for it anyway," she added.

"I don't know how much longer, but I also secretly want him to come out and enjoy all this, because Australia's amazing."

Shirlie also revealed that she was feeling a bit awkward about the fact she is enjoying herself Down Under while her husband is roughing it in the camp.

"I do feel guilty that I'm the one enjoying having all the glory and enjoying lovely room service, glass of wine in the evenings, and Martin is sat on a log drinking boiled water!" she laughed.

Lorraine and I'm a Celebrity both air on ITV.
