In a major recruitment announcement, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will issue a notification this month for over 20,000 job openings one of the largest such drives in recent years.
The bulk of the vacancies are for constable-level positions across a wide spectrum of police divisions including Civil Police, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Armed Police, the state’s Special Security Force, women-only PAC battalions and mounted police units. In addition, the recruitment will include roughly 2,800 posts for jail warders in Uttar Pradesh’s prison department.
This expansion comes after a recruitment drive originally planned earlier in 2025 for approximately 19,220 constable posts was delayed by several months. In the interim, retirements and other factors increased the number of vacancies by about 3,000.
The UPPRPB has advised prospective applicants to closely monitor its official website for the formal notification and subsequent application instructions.
For many job seekers across the state this opening represents a significant opportunity especially at a time when government jobs remain highly sought after. The scale and variety of posts suggest that youth from diverse backgrounds and qualifications may find a fitting role from standard civil police duties to specialized roles in armed and mounted units and positions in prison administration.
Given the likely volume of applications successful candidates will probably undergo a structured selection process which based on past recruitment cycles by UPPRPB may include written examinations physical tests and document verification.
Overall the upcoming drive underscores the state’s push to bolster its law enforcement and prison personnel while offering a substantial window of opportunity for thousands of aspirants.
