YouTube has launched YouTube Recap, a personalized highlight reel of each user’s 2025 watch history. YouTube has finally joining the year-end recap season with a personalized feature of its own.

The platform is rolling out YouTube Recap, giving users a look back at everything they watched in 2025. YouTube also released its annual lists of top trends, creators, songs, and podcasts that shaped the platform in 2025.

What is YouTube Recap?

YouTube Recap serves as a snapshot of everything users consumed on the platform throughout 2025. Recap, according to YouTube, is basically a synopsis of your 2025 viewing habits. Much like other year-end roundups, Recap highlights top channels, major interests, viewing patterns and a generated “personality type.” According to YouTube, it’s a way for users to see their habits across videos, creators, and categories in one personalized reel, as per a report by USA Today.

The feature launches on Dec. 2, and users can find it directly on the YouTube homepage or through the “You” tab, both on mobile devices and desktop.

Which trends dominated YouTube in 2025?

Alongside the Recap rollout, YouTube released its “Trending Topics of 2025,” reflecting the biggest cultural moments on the platform. YouTube says the list was shaped by views, uploads, and creator activity, analyzing only topics that saw major surges in user interest, as per a report by USA Today.

According to YouTube, the year’s top trending topics include:

• Squid Game

• User-Generated Roblox Experiences

• KPop Demon Hunters

• Brainrot

• Charlie Kirk

• Labubu

• Nintendo Switch 2

• Cookie Run Kingdom

• Blue Lock

Who were the Top Creators and Top Songs?

YouTube’s “Top Creators” list was determined by subscriber growth within the year, excluding artists, brands, media outlets, and children’s channels. The ranking includes major names such as:

• Cadel and Mia

• Charlie Kirk

• Law by Mike

For music lovers, YouTube also revealed its “Top Songs” list, based on in-country views of new or fast-rising songs across music videos, lyric videos, and art tracks. Among the top 2025 tracks are:
