Chyawanprash contains a large amount of nutrients, which can prove to be very beneficial for your overall health. For your information, to make Chyawanprash at home, you will need 500 grams of Amla, 2 tablespoons of pure ghee, jaggery or honey, 1 teaspoon cardamom powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1/2 teaspoon dry ginger powder, 1/4 teaspoon pippali powder and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder.
Chyawanprash Recipe: Wash all the gooseberries thoroughly. Now, boil them in a pressure cooker. After 2-3 whistles, you can turn off the gas. Once the Amla cools down, remove the seeds. Put the boiled gooseberry in the mixer and grind it coarsely. Keep in mind not to add water to the amla paste. After this, add oil or pure ghee in a thick bottomed pan and turn on the gas.
Follow this method: Add Amla paste in hot ghee and fry well on medium flame. When the amla paste turns light brown or starts leaving the sides of the pan, you can add melted jaggery or honey. Cook the mixture on low flame while stirring for a while. When the mixture thickens, add cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, dry ginger powder, pippali powder and black pepper powder.
Benefits: Now cook Chyawanprash for about 5-7 minutes. When the mixture becomes thick like Chyawanprash, you can turn off the flame. You can use a glass jar to store Chyawanprash. Once the Chyawanprash cools down, take it out in a dry glass container. Eat one spoon of Chyawanprash daily and strengthen your health.
