The Bihar government has launched a special scheme to increase farmers' income and spread greenery in villages. This scheme has been created to encourage farmers to plant trees. This will increase greenery in the fields and create new sources of income in the future. Farmers can easily obtain saplings from their nearest Forest Department nursery. This scheme is valid for all districts of North Bihar.
The Agroforestry (Poplar ETP) Scheme is an excellent opportunity for farmers. Under this scheme, farmers can obtain poplar saplings by depositing a security deposit of just 10 rupees. Importantly, if 50% or more of the saplings you plant survive after three years, the government will provide an incentive of 60 rupees per sapling. This scheme is being implemented to encourage farmers to plant trees, and can also be a good source of additional income for them.
Increasing Farmers' Income
These saplings will be provided by the government from the Forest Department nursery. Farmers can purchase a variety of plants here, including rosewood, guava, amla, lemon, mahogany, teak, jamun, kachnar, mango, eucalyptus, neem, kadamba, peepal, banyan, baheda, and palash. Under the scheme, farmers are required to purchase at least 100 plants.
