Dharmendra, one of the most recognisable faces of Indian cinema breathed his last on November 24, 2025. Millions of admirers are still grieving the loss of one of the most loved actors in the industry. While many wonder whether Hema Malini or Prakash Kaur has a major share in his ancestral property, the truth is quite a surprise. For the underseed, Dharmendra had six kids, named Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeita, Vijeta, Esha and Ahana Deol. However, a report suggests that his ancestral property does not belong to any of the kids.

Dharmendra was born in Nasrali with his ancestral ties to Dango in Ludhiana, Punjab. The ancestral home may be a mud-and-brick structure but it is valued in crores. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, Dharmendra transferred the property to his nephews. This was done to honour family traditions, a decision governed by emotions and values instead of money. Dharmendra’s last visit to Dango in 2025 was just months before his passing away and was meant to finalise the transfer of the ancestral land to the children of his uncle.

People of the village fondly remember Dharmendra as he never forgot his roots and often revisited the place for his childhood memories. A memorable visit from 2013 is still echoed by the people of the town when Dharmendra stopped by during a film shoot. He got out of his car, bent down and touched the soil of his courtyard before standing in silence for some time. His long-standing emotional connection with his family and land was on display.
The passing of Dharmendra left a deep void in people’s hearts. While there were demands of a state level funeral, the family chose to keep things private.
