The postponed wedding of Indian women cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal has triggered a wave of online speculation, prompting two choreographers – Gulnaaz Khan and Nandika Dwivedi – to publicly deny sensational cheating allegations circulating across social media.
Rumours erupted after reports claimed the couple has decided to delay their wedding and Smriti also took down a few posts from their engagement ceremony. Online gossip pages and Reddit threads quickly latched onto the development, baselessly linking Palaash to choreographers involved in the wedding preparations. What began as unverified chatter soon snowballed into harassment and trolling directed at those named in the rumours.
Gulnaaz Khan responds to misleading claims amid Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal’s wedding row
Gulnaaz Khan, the first choreographer dragged into the controversy, issued a calm clarification through Instagram stating she had “nothing to do” with the couple’s personal relationship. She emphasised that her connection with Smriti and Palaash was strictly professional and appealed to fans to maintain respect while discussing the matter.
Despite her statement, the gossip cycle intensified, wrongly implicating another choreographer who worked briefly with the couple during pre-wedding preparations.
Nandika Dwivedi shuts down cheating rumours
Choreographer Nandika Dwivedi, the second individual pulled into the controversy without basis, has spoken out strongly against the accusations. In interviews and social-media updates, Nandika declared that she had no romantic association with Palaash Muchhal and said her involvement was limited to the choreography work she was hired for.
She described the backlash as “traumatic”noting that she has received abusive messages, trolling, and even threats ever since her name began circulating online. Nandika stressed that neither Smriti nor Palaash has accused her of anything, calling the allegations “completely unfair” and urging people to stop dragging her into “fictional narratives.”
“Over the past few days, I’ve seen speculation about my involvement in a situation that has been deeply personal for other people. I want to address and clarify that the assumptions being made about me, particularly the idea that I played a role in disrupting anyone’s relationship, are simply NOT true. It’s extremely painful to watch a narrative form around something I had no part in, and even more difficult to see how quickly these stories grow without any basis in reality,” she wrote on Instagram.
Nandika also slammed media outlets for publishing reports based on social media gossip and added, “Please understand, this will not be easy for me to come out of, I cannot be falsely accused anymore. Please. I have been watching those I care about feel stressed and hurt by information that is not true, and it is taking a toll on my mental health.”
No evidence of cheating; Wedding reportedly delayed due to family health concern
According to multiple reports, both the families have suggested that the wedding was postponed because of a health scare involving Smriti’s fathernot due to any relationship issues. There has been no official statement from either Smriti or Palaash suggesting cheating, a breakup, or a third-person angle.
Journalists, influencers, and members of the entertainment industry have also criticised the online frenzy, cautioning against treating speculation as fact and reminding fans that unverified rumours can severely harm reputations.
