Stranger Things is set to wrap up on New Year’s Eve, but Netflix isn’t ready to close the gates to Hawkins just yet. The streamer has launched a new mystery novel to keep fans immersed in the Upside Down universe.

Titled Stranger Things: One Way or Another: A Nancy Wheeler Mystery, the book went on sale on December 2, 2025. Written by series writer Caitlin Schneiderhan, the novel explores an untold chapter between Seasons 4 and 5, following Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley as they probe a classmate’s strange behaviour in the aftermath of Vecna’s devastating earthquake.

The release has sparked strong fan interest—so much so that the book shot to No. 1 among new titles in Amazon’s Science Fiction Crime & Mystery category and has already sold out.

Stranger Things Novel Story

The story follows Nancy, played by Natalia Dyer on the show, and Robin, portrayed by Maya Hawke, as they dive into what begins as a simple suspicion and spirals into a much larger mystery. Two months after the Hawkins quake, Nancy is still consumed with hunting Vecna, even as college looms in the fall. When classmate Joey Taft starts behaving oddly at graduation, she becomes certain something sinister is unfolding.

According to the official synopsis, their investigation leads them into a deeper web of illness, stalking, and secrets—raising the question of whether Vecna or the Upside Down is truly behind it all. As Nancy and Robin chase answers, they find themselves pulled into a dangerous plot that threatens to trap Nancy in Hawkins forever.
