Thousands of WhatsApp users are reporting that the global instant messaging service has gone down, with many reporting seeing an "unexpected error" message appearing on their screens.
Downdetector is currently showing a huge spike in problems on WhatsApp that have been reported to the website. One person wrote: "'Unexpected error occurred'. [Reload]. Can't do anything else." Several users worldwide have experienced issues when logging in from their computers, according to a post on X by Globovision. The page reportedly stalls and displays the message: "An error occurred." According to Dondetector, 64% of the failures occur when trying to log in from a computer.
